Who are we and what we're about

Future Hippies of Punk is a band by Gen X, for Gen X. And it's more than a band — it's a movement. We're tossing a drink in the face of growing old and giving it the middle finger, because as a generation, we're getting younger every year. We're going to out live and out party everyone.

Founded by Amos Lee Schwartzfarb, who's also the band's primary songwriter, FHOP's debut album, Middle Aged No One, follows one character moving chronologically through life. From those songs, a band formed. From the band, a movement — real people who refuse to fade quietly into "middle-aged," and aren't shy about saying so.

Alongside Amos, that band is Jeff Krenik on guitar, Patrick Sanders on bass,  Tser Htoo on drums and Brooke Baines on background vocals — the ones who took one guy's story and made it something you feel in a room full of people, not just in headphones.

The sound is like JJ Cale and Pink Floyd had a baby, Queens of the Stone Age and Brian Jonestown Massacre had a baby, and then — by some miracle — those two babies had a baby. That's Future Hippies of Punk.

FHOP isn't a young person's band chasing a moment, a nostalgia trip, or a midlife crisis in chord form. It's Gen X existentialism wrapped in groove — proof that getting older doesn't mean getting quieter.
